seen this one? login hangs

W2k Pro, all patches applied, not in domain (just workgroup),

The login screen is hanging for about a minute with a hour glass and
one can't login till it done.

What could it be doing? How can i find out?

Check with msconfig http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Msconfig.htm which
services and processes are on startup. Try to disable services and reboot.
Possibly you can find out what is going wrong with a program.
