Hi,

Currently using Windows XP Home edition. Would like to
upgrade to XP Professional.

Question:
- do I need to re-install my existing programs after the
upgrade or the s/w won't be affected?

- anybody has bad experience/unsuccessful upgrade? what
precautions need to be done?

thanks,
jack ling.

An upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro is quite easy. You'll need the
"retail, upgrade version" of XP Pro. Make sure you select the default
"Upgrade" option during setup and not "New Installation". It would
be wise to disable or uninstall your antivirus program, too. Also,
physically disconnect your peripheral hardware devices, except for
your monitor, mouse and keyboard.
