Seeing Choppy Letters With XP

Hi,

I would like to know why is it that in a couple of sites the letters aren't
seen as they should with WXP and I've noticed they're the same type of letters
whenever I encouter that problem. Also, in other occassions the letters would
look bad as soon as I open the site, but then for no reason they would look
fine...

This only happens with WXP, never had that problem with W98 when seeing the
same sites.

Actually that just looks like the text is anti-aliased on a black background
so it blurs into the black. You can turn off anti-aliasing for the entire
computer from your desktop settings or make the font larger in the IE
settings (Though some web pages override your font settings). When I
encounter a site like this I use the mouse to highlight the text so I can
read it. Luckily the number of people making black background webpages with
smallish white text are not the majority
