Security Updates

Why is it that when I go to Windows XP Updates I get the
message saying there are no critical updates. However,
when I check for security downloads for the latest worm
threats, I'm given several pacs to download??

Where are you doing this check for security downloads? It may be that it
just gives you everything whether you need it or not. Windows Update
actually scans your computer. Feel free to reinstall the updates, if they
come from a legitimate Microsoft page and match your version of Windows.
Worst that will happen is that you waste some time
