Security Update

I have 2 questions:

1. I have Windows XP Professional. How do I determine how
many bit (e.g. 64?) I have?

2. I installed Security Update for Microsoft Windows XP
KB828035 yesterday, and since then I have been rev=ceiving
error messages and crashing. How do I uninstall?

Hi Jeffrey,

1) Start/run winver

If it is the 64 bit version, this will tell you it is. Very few home users
would have this version, and those who do likely would know that they do.
The 32 bit version is the one commonly found on most home and office
machines. The 64 bit version is made for some very expensive hardware.

2) Control Panel/Add & Remove, KB828035 should be one of the hotfixes
offered for removal.

I also started to have problems after that security
update (Windows XP KB828035), I have XP home edition:

-Every time I start my computer I get a message saying
that "DirectCD.exe failed to start, press OK to continue"
and as a consequence I can't burn any CD (I use Roxio's
software)

-I use eudora for email and now I get the same message as
above after the computer hangs for a long time before
displaying "Eudora.exe failed to start, press OK to
continue"

-Also, the computer has frozen two times today

I already uninstalled the XP KB828035 and I keep getting
the same messages and not being able to use those two
programs.

1]go to Start >Run > type winver >Enter
2]go to control panel > select Add or Remove programs > Remove the
hotfix > Reboot.
