Security Update 839645 breaks my XP box

This update seems to be profile specific on my XP pro sp1 box. All other
profiles (all 'puter admin access level) get trashed with a locked desktop,
missing Start button and "sidebyside" errors in event viewer. The only
profile unaffected is the one used to actually d/load & install the update.
.. .

If I uninstall this update, all returns to normal. . .weird. . .

Anyone else having this prob with the latest MS critical update?

Create a new admin account and install it from there. If it fails, you have
a deeper problem. If it works, the user registry for the account it fails on
is rooted.
