Security settings for access 2000

Hi, i am a new user to access 2000. I bought a cd, as a product upgrade
companion to VFP9. I had been building tables and forms etc, but after a
period of time a security popup appeared saying something like "you are not
the owner of the object and cannot therefore make changes and save changes"
gradually i am shut out of the access design environment and then have to
recreate my work under a different name, which is frustrating. Then i get
locked out of the new environment. I have tried to change security
permissions and have even added myself as a group. All it says "is you need
to contact the owner to change these settings" I am not going to be
distributing any applications so i dont need any security settings at all.
Please can someone help me to get rid of the security aspects of the
software.

I had a nagging security issue that I couldn't get rid of in an older db and
I had to export all objects to an empty, clean db. Some add-ins add code
that may give you problems, so check all form code and modules in the db.

It gives instructions on how to remove user-group security from a database.

Did you have another question, Alan?

Just as a matter of interest, AltonAlan, why do you preface your response
with a ">"? The ">" is added by some mail/news readers to message text that
you _quoted_ in your reply. It obscures the fact that you have added any
comment at all, if you type ">" in front of your reply text.

And, just as a matter of interest, it is unnecessary to quote the entire
message to add a single line of "thank you". In fact, it would have been
even more effective had you just replied with only enough quotes to identify
John as the responder, and then your "thank you" line (not disguised as
quoted material).

:Thanks that was very usefull. I need to set up the admin
side of the objects when i start the project, not when i am halfway through.

Well, as I am not trying to answer your question, I thought it somewhat
amusing. On the other hand, had I been trying to answer your question, I
might well have decided that your unhelpful approach made it not worth my
time and effort.

I find it a really good idea, when I am seeking assistance, to follow normal
practices to make it easy for people to give the help I need, without having
to go to unnecessary effort. I also find it a really good idea to not try to
ridicule someone who I might need to help in the future. YMMV.

sorry larry, but your reply did'nt help, did it. You might also consider that
i, as a first time forum user, followed the screen layout and did'nt realise
that the shevrons would be displayed. but anyway that did'nt effect the
content, did it. Other people managed to follow the gist of what i was trying
to say. anyway thanks for the effort.
