offered a windows update on monday it was inadvertantly
refused, now no-one on the computer can access any secure
site from any browser, nor can we use msn messenger.

when entering windows update site to try to download, it
briefly flashes,'installing',then says incomplete.

i have version 6.0 of int.expl.and can't download the
service pak,says i need version 6.0, well........

i have tried to contact msn various ways, and have no
response.how do i fix my security settings to allow
access?

ssl are enabled
activex is enabled

i am lost:(

I was unable to access secure sights and checked my
settings and even changed some to no avail. I called my
isp and they said one of my filters was on at their end and
reset it. Still doesn't work, but I do have two log on
names and passwords, I can easily get through with the
original log on. I am sure I need to call the provider
again to check their end. Hope I helped some for direction.

Quite a few others have had the same problem, only it
wasn't caused by refusing automatic updates. I'm not sure
what the cause of the problem is... but one person seems
to think an individual's ISP is the one blocking access
to secure sites. Try contacting your ISP and see what you
can find out from them.
