Security centre

I'm working with Windows XP Home and running all Norton Internet Security &
Antivirus software.
I'm currntly experiencing 2 problems with the Security centre:
1. Each time I boot up my laptop - the message appears that my computer
might be at risk because my firewall isn't switched on. I check with Norton &
all's well - so I go into Security Centre & change the setting to "on" each
time. This is a known problem with XP (so the Mcrosoft Service Centre tell
me) - can anyone tell me how to overcome this please?
2. Recently the Security Centre is showing that my Virus Protection is OFF.
It is running OK in Norton - but this isn't being recognised by the Security
Centre. How do I alter the setting for the Security Centre?

The Security Center is a service, so you can turn it off under Control
Panel>Adminstrative Tools>Services. If you know you've got AV and firewall
protection then it's redundant anyway, it was added to SP2 mainly for the
benefit of people who don't understand these things.
