Security Centre problem

Hello,
I have just noticed a problem with the security centre. It is not
switched on. It says that the security centre is currently unavailable
because the security centre has not been started. I have tried
services.msc but I cant find any reference to the security centre in
there. What else can I do to re-activate it.
Any help would be most appreciated.

You should see a service called Security Center.
Also take a look in your event logs....

I have just checked again and there is definitely no service called security
centre. I have had a look at my event logs and nothing really stands out,
but I don't really know what I am looking for.

Errors? Look in app and system logs.
Have you tried reinstalling SP2?
Have you scanned for malware and viruses?

I have had a closer look at the app and system logs but found nothing
untoward. Yes, I have done several scans for malware and viruses, using
spybot, adaware and my antivirus software NAV.
I haven't tried re-installing SP2, how do I do that ?
Thanks

Hi - if you have a new question, post it as a new message, so more people
will see it. Mention your version of antivirus, etc., as well.
