Security accounts manager failed

Whilst trying to copy data from an old hard drive, I conected the old drive
into my computer and upon booting up got an error message Isass.exe The
Security accounts manager initialisation failed because of the following
error The Handle is invalid error status 0xc0000008.
upon removing the old hard drive the same message keeps coming up.

any help would be appreciated

Is the old drive, the one you're adding, set to master with it's jumper
settings? Double check and make sure that it's set to slave. Does that do
the trick?

I want you to do me a favor - this is marked to follow up so I'll keep
track - are you 100% certain that this is an L or an I? Is it Isass.exe or
LSASS.EXE (capitalized intentionally) if you can tell?

The "L" is what you'd want. If it's an "I" then you have contracted a virus.
