Securing Individual Slides

How can I lock slides so that text cannot be amended, yet individual slides
can be deleted or moved around when necessary.

Powerpoint doesn't support this - if you password modification then you cant
modify anything.

If youre prepared to sacrifice animations you could save each slide as a PNG
file (SAVE AS > PNG > CURRENT SLIDE ONLY) and then set each PNG as a
background picture. The presentation would look the same and allow slides to
be deleted or moved. As I said tho - no text animations! It would be possible
to add other animation over the background

You could export the slide that you want to protect as an image file, and
then insert it back into PowerPoint. that would stop any editing of text in
that slide in PowerPoint.

Pardon the commercial interruption, but if John and Michael's suggestions will
work for you, have a look at http://protect.pptools.com

It's an inexpensive add-in that does the PPT slide to image conversion for you
automatically and allows options for preserving or deleting notes and such.
