Securely wiping a usb drive

I bought a usb drive recently, but am going to return it because it is
too slow. I did copy some files containing personal info onto the
drive though, so I want to make sure I wipe it off. Is it enough to
format the drive? Or should I fill up the drive with non-personal
data to make sure that my personal data got overwritten?

No, there are plenty of utes that can unformat it.

Its better to do a security wipe.
