Create a desktop shortcut with a target of
"path to 2007 msaccess.exe" "path to mdb" /wrkgrp "path to mdw"

Yes you can join a workgroup in 2007, providing you are using the mdb format...

Database Tools...Administer...Users and Permissions
or from code
Docmd.RunCommand acCmdWorkgroupAdministrator

Thank you Joan !

With Access 2003 I can create a new Work Group and change (join) another Work
Group very easily by code or by Menu>> Tools >>> etc...

With Access 2007 I understand that is possible to change by code, but,........
.................I do Not think is possible to change (JOIN) to another Work
Group from Menu >> Database Tools >> Administer

Am I right ???????

I don't have 2007 loaded, but my understanding is that you can join another workgroup - you must be using the mdb format (not the default accdb format).

Sorry but I do not think is possible, because Does Not shows any possible
button option on the Access menu.

You can Not join another WorkGroup using the mdb format, because on :
Menu >> Database Tools >> Administer , Does Not shows the menu, any
possible option to join or create a new WorkGroup.

Only possible to do it thought the Security assistant (User Level Security
Wizard) , but Not directly like Access 2003

Anyway thank you again for you replay

I'm under the impression you can use workgroup security (using the
/wrkgrp command line switch), but not create it.

Guys, the writing is on the wall. If you want to secure your Access /
Jet app, better use a different approach. Me, I'm going to check
membership of groups in Active Directory.
