Hi,

Baisic question on ftp on XP pro. I don't want to allow anonymous
access. I have installed a self-signed certificate.

When I uncheck anonynous access in the ftp service, I get a warning
that passwords will be sent in clear text - something I do not want to
happen. What is the solution?

If you are trying to log into an ftp server get a dedicated ftp client.
FlashFXP is the one I use but there are plenty out there. XP has very
limited support for ftp. If you are setting up a server repost with the
server you are using.
