Secondary Links Not Working

We have two pcs at home, and we're using a linksys cabel gateway for
broadband access to the internet through Comcast. Everything seems
fine until we either try to open a secondary link on a googled page or
website, or you try to open a link in a HTML email. My wife like's
iVillage's recipes and she can't access them.

She's using XP Media Edition, I'm using XP Home. Both pcs are modern,
fast machines and it makes no difference whether we use IE or Firefox.

Email is fine otherwise, as are all other aspects of browsing. Does
this sound like a XP-related issue, a LinkSys issue, or maybe a
Comcast issue? Or some combination?

C'mon... can't somebody respond? This seems to be a reoccurring issue
with nobody offering any ideas on how to remedy it. Its really a
PITA, and I'd like to know if its the OS, the router, or the broadband
company?

So Joe...

Do I have to load/unzip all those files or just the one that handles
shortcuts?

LNK (Shortcut) File Association Fix (Restores Default Shortcut

Fix File Associations for _HTM_ and _URL_. These two are associated
with web sites.
