Trying to find out if there is a way to copy transitions and effects from
one machine to another. My XP-Media Edition system has additional
transitions and effects that are not on my XP-Pro system and I'd like to
have the same choices on both machines, but I don't know where these files
"live" in order to copy them.

Any help out there??

The following article discusses the
additional Movie Maker transitions
in the MCE edition of XP:

Maybe the .dll files in question could
be copied to your other machine. If
you try it...let us know the result.

I'll be back to let you know how things turn out.

Your information led me to the two files I'm going to try to copy, but you
say the dll needs to be registered. Not sure what you mean by that.
("Both files are in the Shared\AddOnTFX folder and the dll needs to be
registered.")

============================
First you copy the files to the correct folder.

To register the .dll file...try the following.

Go to...Start / Run and type
(or copy/paste):

regsvr32 wmm2fxpz.dll
(yes, there is a space between 2 and w)

Press...Enter...

You should see a dialog box that says:

DllRegisterServer in wmm2fxpz.dll succeeded

Good luck.
