Second Post: Inability to download attachments.

Greetings,

I have a problem on a computer which has been rebuild several times and
where for some time now I have been unable to consistently download file
attachments from Yahoo email. Everyting else is working fine.

The machine is using a 2Wire Modem, Gateway, Router hardware firewall, which
I have restored default settings, and McAfee as the software firewall, with
configurations I know work on other machines.

And yet, when I try to download an attachment, Yahoo kicks off Norton, the
file is scanned, no problems are found and them I get a message indicating
that the dowload is pending while information is retrieved about the file.

I don´t know what else to do. I have configured McAfee the same way on
several machines, without problems. The Modem/Router/Gateway is at default
settings. And, I have made sure that I am not running both the MS firewall
and McAfee.

Can somebody help?

Thank you.

Jean-Pierre

P.S. I also keep requesting to receive replies to this forum on my email and
yet
I never get anyting, even if people respond... Any clues? Gee I could
be
paranoid and think that people are hacking my email but that´s a
stretch...
Thank you for any pointers.

PA Bear,

I must admit that your answer is a bit irksome because I am not trying to
annoy anyone and it looks like that is just what I unwittingly doing.
However, I have never been one to bite the hand that feeds/helps me.

In any case, I appreciate you taking the time to help me.

1. I am using a number of computers, not my own, at Internet Cafes etc so it
is
not practical to configure Microsoft Outlook Express on everyone. I guess
failure to do so accounts for me not seeing my own posts... Would
setting it up
also fix the problem of finding the Newsgroup? of getting your responses
in my inbox as I request but don´t see. How about installing Silverlight?

2. In any case, I can´t download attachments.... on that machine, no matter
what.

Regards,

Jean-Pierre
