Second hard drive

I have installed a second hard drive in my computer, it shows up in disk
devices,
but however when I click on disk management, at the bottom of the first pop
up window I get the message ; Unable to connect to logical disk servise, and
the second window, with the error no such interface supported.

I have installed win xp with sp2, and IE7 Beta I don't know what else to do
and the second hard drive has information that I need for classes.

Can someone help me please?
many thanks

well Sir I am still waiting for a solution to the problem unfortunately. I
went to a computer repair shop and the Tec. said that's no big thing I can do
it my self, cause he had so much to do, just go on-line Microsoft help, so I
am back right where I started. I am realy suffering cause I had some work
which I had to submitted. I had to end up doing it all over.

I am sorry smlunatick, that solution did not work

Go to the manufacturers website and download their test/format utilities.
Make the book diskette (or CD). Disconnect your working drive and leave only
the second drive connected. Boot from the diskette/CD and run their
utilities, etc.
