second hard drive

I installed a new motherboard and serial hard drive. Installed Windows XP
Home on new drive. I piggy backed my old hard drive so as to be able to copy
data and some programs off of it. However, Windows does not recognize it. I
find it in the disk manager, but it is not assigned a drive letter and I am
not able to access it to add a letter. I have it as a primary ATA/100 Hard
Drive.

Right click on My Computer, select Manage. On the next screen, click on
Disk Management.

When you see the drive on the right hand side, right click on it...
partition and format it... and then assign it a drive letter.

Your joking right? Does XP Home have "Mark Partition Active" in Disk
Management?
