Second Hard Drive installation

I just installed a second hard drive from my old Dell into my new Dell 8300. It was a new install in my old computer because I needed more space. Any way the operating system on my old Dell was Win 2000. I have now moved the hard drive to my new Dell 8300 thta has Win XP on it. In the device manager it is there, but I can not access it from my desk top. I can not access it at all. Any suggestions? Help.........

Two points to mention:
1) If you set the old drive as 'slave' on the new comp did you change the
jumper position correspondingly?
2) Your old drive with WIN2K would have been installed on a primary
partition as is your Win XP. You can only have one primary partition active
at any time. You have to set the one you wish to boot into as active. You
can do this either by installing a boot manager, using something like
Partition Magic or changing settings in the BIOS.

Under windows Xp go to computer management hard disk and
if u can view it there do a format of the disk that should
solve your problem unless u have files u need to save.
