Second DC

Background
I have a Windows 2000 Domain Controller setup and working just fine. No
problems; it hosts user/computer accounts as well as home drives for users.
We have about 100 users. User authentication, user roaming profiles and
their home drivs are all handled by this DC server. But there is always the
prospect of things going wrong and we fear that one day our only DC server
could crash and we would lose everything.

Plan
We need to install a backup DC or a secondary DC for our network. I presume
this is possible but I am not sure how to go all about it. Can the second
DC also provide replication of user profiles and home drives?

Many thanks in advance
Akz

Yes you can install a second DC on your network. With Win 2000 there is no
more Primary and Backup domain controllers, they are all DCs. And yes you
can divide up the user profiles and home directories between different
servers.
