Second browser window does not open properly

I have Internet Explorer version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 running on
Windows XP Pro. When I click on a link within a web page that attempts to
open a second page, the new window opens but goes no further. The new page
never loads and the dreaded hourglass never goes away. In fact, I can still
see the first page because the new page never even gets to the stage where
it fully opens. This is a recent development (within the last couple of
weeks) and I have not loaded any software that might be causing a conflict.
Any suggestions?

Followed the trail from your first link, which led to Start | Run | regsvr32
actxprxy.dll Fixed it right up as far as I can tell.
