Searching Word Docs Metadata Buggy?

In a file of Word documents I label some of the "Comments" property with
"Not Done". When I open Word and go File -> File Search I get the Advanced
Search Task Pane. OK, so far good. But I'll be danged this thing will not
reliably find the files.

Anyone else have bad results searching this metadata on Word files using
Word's search? I do regularly use the "Protect Document" function in Word -
maybe that's got something to do with it?? If it's buggy then I'll just
give up on it.

This is a pain not being able to organize my files. Of course the work
around would be to amend the file name and just search that. Boy I also
sure do wish I could search this metadata from the Search on the Start menu.
Any way to do that??

Thought maybe I should add also that these files are being received from a
computer that is probably not running XP nor Office 2003, and whose native
language is Korean.

My machine is XP SP1, running Office 2003, English language.
