Searching in customized views of outlook forms in public folders

Created customized outlook form (based on task list). Defined some views and
published it in the public folders. When searching data / entries with the
"find" function nothing is found. Even if the data / entries are displayed in
the view. Are there any special settings required?

What specifically are you searching for? You need to use Advanced Find to search on custom fields in a public folder.

Thanks for the info.
Is there any way to customize (limit to certain fields / define view of the
results) & save an advanced find? The saved advanced find should be
accessible for all users.

Depending on your Outlook version, you may have a File | Save As command on the Advanced Find dialog. (Newer versions will have it disabled.)

Why not just create a new custom view for the folder with the desired settings?

Sue - I have the same desire. What happens is our senior management wants to
be able to do a quick search that includes searching custom fields. That
would be ideal since it requires so few "clicks" for those less computer
savvy. If we use an advanced search they have to have knowledge of which
fields "might" contain the info they're looking for and then individually
select those fields and their search criteria ... may sound absurd but senior
mgmt really have difficulty with the advanced search dialogue box so if there
was a way to make the simple search look in all fields, including new custom
fields I've created in their custom appointment form, that would be great.
Any ideas how to do this ?

if you use vista - the vista search bar (under the start bar) will search the
custom fields in outlook 2007 : )
just discovered this gem !
