Searching for system files

When analyzing my disc prior to defragmenting, a huge gob of green (color
for system files) appears on the graphic display. To find out what this may
be, I would like to run a search for files with "system" attribute and then
sort then in size order but can't figure out how.

I do have a large (1 Gb) pagefile.sys but don't recall the gob mentioned
above appearing before.

Go to a command prompt (Start/run/cmd) and look up the attrib command (attrib
/?) This will show you all of the system/hidden files on your box.
