I am having the same problem. I kill the task after an
hour. This about a week ago. started after I ran a full
virus scan with Norton. After several days I uninstall
the spyeare and reinstalled again. It still freezes at
the same point every time. It has detected: Windupdates
Browser plugins, eXact.Downloader Trojan Downloader, and
Possible Browser Hijack Browser Hijack. The last one was
not a stutter. Anybody got any ideas.

I've had this program ever since it came out. I've done a
complete scan and deleted 5-6 spy's. After my first
update, done an other scan but could never get a complete
scan. Tried re-install but got the same problem.

Does anyone know why it always freeze's at: polymorphics
browsers hijackers?

I still update and try-it some time's but always get the
same result.

Just waiting for beta 2 maybe it will correct this
problem.

Have you submitted a tools, suspected spyware report?

Have you tried scanning with other tools, perhaps in safe mode?

On regular mode, at the end of the scan, I
get "polymorphics browsers hijackers" and my CPU is at
100%.

I have tried in "safe mode" so no other program's will
interfer with the scan. I also done this scan without
being connected to the net. Result:

At the end of the scan when it get's to "C:\documents &
settings\my name\..." it freezes there. On the scan, this
time on safe mode, it is marked: "variable browser
hijack scan" and my CPU goes up to 100%.

Well, I can never get a complete scan.

When I scan with: McAfee VirusScan 7.03, SpyBot, AdAware,
TDS-3, SpySweeper, Bazooka or A2, I never have any
problems to scan.

What is wrong with Microsoft AntySpyware?

I have a Hp pavillion 6645C with Celeron 566, 512mb of
ram, hard disk of 40 gigs and 30 gigs free space, WinXP
Pro....

Where does it scan after "c:\documents & settings" ?

There are a number of possibilities here. There are some reports of
particular spyware which changes permissions on objects such that the
current user of the machine, even as administrator, does not have permission
to access them. Microsoft Antispyware does not handle this situation well.
In other cases, what appears to be a hang in the application has been
recognized by some persistent beta testers as a long lag--45 minutes to a
couple of hours on the same file......

If Microsoft Antispyware isn't capable of completing a scan on your system,
even if left for an extended period, attempting to clean the problem with a
different vendors antispyware software is what I'd go for next.
