Searching for folders by name

Tom

I will need to search a drive for all folders named "presentation",
display their size, last modified date & save the output to a file.
How can I do that? Thanks

The ordinary Windows XP search will let you search for
folders (select "Folder" from the list for "Type of file"
under "More Advanced Options" for the regular
all-files-and-folders search), and you can specify the data
you want with "Choose Details ..." under "View".

I'd never tried this before, but I just found the two folders
with "Microsoft" in their name in my "My Documents"
in short order. If I wanted to save the results, I'd use
the Print Screen key.

Easier than obtaining an extra piece of software, IMHO.

But it won't show folder sizes, which was one of OP's criteria.

Pegasus' FolderSizes might do or OP could use
http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/ which is freeware (unlike FS). If you
have it installed, you can see folder sizes in XP's Search Results (if
you're in Details view).

But AgentRansack is IMO generally a far better tool than XP's built-in
search and worth installing anyway (it's on every XP PC I use). While it
won't show folder sizes (even with FolderSize installed), it does offer a
Save Results function.
