searching for emails received on a specified date

A member of our staff would like to search for emails that he received on
i.e. yesterday's date. When he receives his emails he puts them into his
cabinet in various folders and then at the end of the day likes to emass all
his today's or yesterday's emails for a looksee. Can a search be done by
date?
 
this can be done with a "search folder" (file/new/search folder)
you must have outlook 2003 or newer
