There are dozends of so called Ad blockers which prevents the display of ads (ad banners)
on web pages. Another method is avoiding

Unfortunately these tools let the browser display ugly default image placeholders
on the ad locations.

A similar effect has the ad blocking through the hosts file.

I am searching now an ad blocker/filter which not only prevents the fetching of ads from ad servers
but replaces them by an 1x1 pixel size white image.

Does someone know such a smart ad blocking tool ?

not sure if you can
actually ascertain the desired
results you are looking for since
the world wide web is another term
for world wide market place and ad-vertisments
are associated to marketing.

the best that i think one could
aspect is to eliminate ads that
pop up and block the viewing
of web pages.

most of the time these pop ups
are designed to be malicious rather
than simple advertisements that help
support the costs for web page you
are accessing for free.

notwithstanding, i suggest to keep
a close watch on your so called ad blockers.

some and maybe most of them are well
designed spywares that have been
disguised as anti ad wares.
