Search within my company's intranet

I'm creating a new website for my department. I would like to include a
search feature on my site. Besides searching my own site in the intranet, I
would like the search functionality to include 3 or 4 other sites within my
company.

How can I configure the web component "search form properties" to do that?
These 4 other intranet sites are outside of my department directory structure.

Thanks,

Basically, you can't. The FrontPage search component is confined to the
subweb it is in - that means it may not be able to search other subwebs in
the same web site, never mind other web sites.

If all your web sites are hosted on a single, Windows server then you may be
able to tune the Index Server Catalogue used by the search, and include all
the sites - I have done that accidently, but don't know how.

There are plenty of good sources of knowledge about doing this exact thing
using Classic Asp or .Net.

Setting up the index server can be tricky, but it is worth it.
