Search window opens instead of folder

All of a sudden when I click on My computer and then one of the folders or
the C drive instead of opening, the search window with its little annoying
dog opens. How do I get it to just open the folder again?

Click Start/Run and type this command:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

This problem occurs when you alter the "Drive" / "File Folders" entries
via File Types dialog, to add a "Command Prompt here" or "Print
Directory" feature for folders. (example)
