Search Not Searching

My search facilty in XP Pro doesn't work correctly. I
have a lot of Informix NewEra files which are just
development files which can be opened in any text editor.
When I search for files which contain particular words
which I know exist, the search always fails to fond
anything. Any thoughts please?

check your settings under the double down arrows(chevrons)

Do you have indexing service in admin tools-services
enabled?

Windows XP search for All files and folders does NOT find all files when you
use a word or phrase
