Search not in date order

When I do a search for a particular subject, the results always come back in
random order of date, so it's hard to find the original post. Is there some
way to get the results in chronological order?

When you search for what kind of a thing? Where? Using what search tool?

Hi, Ken-

Sorry for not being more specific. I was using the Tech Net website.for Win
XP general discussion. I posted a question, and the discussion went on for a
few days. Of course, there are lots of pages for each day, so I used the
search box on the web page and put in my subject. It would come back with a
list of posts and replies (not all of them relevant), but they're always in
random order of date, some a year old, so it's hard to find my particular
post and its replies. What can I do to get the search results in
chronological order?

Try Googlegroups instead. I think it's the best search tool for newsgroup
postings.

I don't know. Almost everyone here uses a newsreader to read newsgroups, not
web-based thingys.
