Search History

Hello, Where does Yahoo, Google, and other search engines store their search
history on your pc. I have a friend that wants to figure out where all of
his search history is stored so he can catch his kids from going onto sites
that they are banned from in his household.

I think what he is trying to ask, like IE stores your webpage history in the
history folder under the users name. He banned his kids from going to sites
to download games and software. I think his kids are going and downloading
software from crack sites and it is putting pop-ups and porn dialers on his
pc. I tried to help him clear out the history, cookies, temp. internet
folder, and tried to remove programs from his computer with no luck. We are
just short of re-formatting his pc, but he has alot of work and information
on it that would be a total disaster to try and reload everything. We also
tried to figure out where they are going to get this type of things, but you
know teenagers, they know how to put things on and remove things. But I
don't think they know how to remove any extras that might come with that
particular software.

We also tried to do spyware and repair software to scan the computer to rid
these from poping up, they are not finding anything.

We figured out that they are using Yahoo, Google, And Lycos search engines
and deleting the history. That is why we can not find where they are going.
His teenagers are nothing but trouble.... I am glad my kids are not like
his!!!

But he has asked me to help him, everytime he logs on to the computer, he
gets nothing but problems. I told him he needs to keep them boys off the
computer and buy them their own.
Please help. Another question, if when a website is typed into the address
bar, where does microsoft put that website to store it for later use, when
IE is reloaded.
Example, If I type yahoo.com in the address bar, and I delete it, where does
it go from there?? We want to see where they are going on his computer
without purchasing all kinds of "Forensic Software"

Here is the thing you want.
http://www.programurl.com/computer-history-viewer.htm

But if your friend's kids know about IE, they will disable the history in
Tools > Internet Options > Content tab > Autocomplete button
and in advanced tab.
