Hi folks,
When I attempt to do a search (using the "All Files and
Folders" parameter) either from My Computer, or using
Start...Search, a dialogue pops up for MS Office 2000
Standard saying "The feature you are trying to use is on
a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available.
Insert the Microsoft Office 2000 Standard disk and click
OK."
The problem is, I don't use Office 2000 Standard, I've
always used Office 2000 Professional. If I try to use
the Office (Professional) CD and click OK, I get a
message saying "The file 'Microsoft Office 2000' is not a
valid installation package for the product Microsoft
Office 2000 Standard. Try to find the installation
package 'data1.msi' in a folder from which you can
install Microsoft Office 2000 Standard."
Can anyone help me figure this out?
Ok the situation just changed as I repeated the procedure
to write up this post. I just figured out that if I
start hitting the cancel button when the dialogue box
pops up, I have to hit cancel about four times before it
stops looking for Office 2000 Standard, and then I can
perform a search. Still, does anybody know why it's
looking for Office Standard in the first place?
Thanks a bunch,
Greg
