Search Form not working

We have a search form that was created using Frontpage 2000. Our server now
has the latest version of IIS that uses Sharepoint Services. The search form
no longer works properly, it executes but never returns results. Any idea
how to fix this? Thanks.

Is this a full-text search or a database search?

Either way, I'm surprised it fails silently when you try to run the site
under Windows SharePoint Services. I'd expect FrontPage full-text search, the
FrontPage Database Results Wizard, and ASP pages all to fail with nasty error
messaged.

Are you sure that your host isn't running the FrontPage 2002 Server
Extensions on Windows Server 2003? If so, and they haven't built you an
Indexing Service catalog, that would account for the behavior you're seeing.

We are running FrontPage 2002 Server extensions on Windows Server 2003.
There is an index catalog that has been built. If you remove the cicatalog
definition from idq file you get the error "There is no catalog," so the
catalog is definitely there and it seems like it must recognize that it is
there, but can't find anything and returns "No documents found." I even
tried creating a brand new search form, but I only have Frontpage 2000 and
still the same result.

It's possible the page isn't picking up the server's configuration.

Have you tried opening the Windows Server 2003 site and then either?

o Choosing Recaluclate Hyperliks form the Tools menu?
o Openng the page that contains the search form, making and reversing
a minor change, and then saving?

On the existing search form that wasn't working, I did try making a change
and saving it. It did produce a new idq file, but still got the same error.
That's when I tried just creating a brand new page with a search form,
shouldn't need to do recalculate hyperlinks on a brand new page. But, still
got the same result with the new page.

Try browsing http://www.interlacken.com/winnt/dnld/, downloading the ASP
Self-Diagnosis Web Page, and then running the page in your Web site. This may
tell you more about what's going on.
