Search for text in .msg files

Eric

I often save .msg files in a Windows folder. (I'm using Outlook 2003 and
Windows XP.)

I would like to be able to do a search for specific text across all the .msg
files in a folder. The Search function in Windows Explorer does not work for
this purpose. Is there a way to do a search like this in Windows?

(The reason that I'm saving the messages as .msg files in the first place is
that my company's IT department does not permit saving Outlook messages in
Outlook for longer than 45 days.)

Do they let you create PSTs?

Otherwise, have you considered that there might be a reason why you're limited
to 45 days? Generally speaking, the reason why email retention policies
like that are legal and breaking said policy can get you in a metric crap
ton of trouble.
