Search for custom file properties?

Is there any way in XP to search for custom file properties? i.e., create a
custom file property called 'invoice' , assign it to various invoice files,
and then run a search that will produce a list of all 'invoice' files (all
files having the custom property named 'invoice' assigned to them)?

Found answer to my own question: Can't seem to do it in XP, but from within
any Office application, this document tells how:

Actually, although I found how to do it, it doesn't work at all. All
searches bring up, "No file found", regardless of what I specify in the
search dialog. Either it doesn't work, or my IQ is too low to grasp how to
make it work.

If you are doing advance search in an office application and its not
working, you may want to post this in the Office NG instead of here in
XP general.
