Search feature not running

I've added the search component to my homepage. My host is equipped with FTP
extensions. The component looks fine when published, however once you type in
the search item and click the "begin search" button I receive a message
saying "Service is not running."
Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure what you mean by "FTP extensions".

If you mean that your host provides only FTP (no extensions) then the
FrontPage Search componment won't work. Consult your host's support pages for
alternatives.

If you mean that your host provides FP extensions, you may need to open the
live site directly and recalculate hyperlinks, or you may need to ask the
host to start the Indexing Service on the Web server, and then create an
"Indexing Service Catalog" for your site.
