"Search" feature doesn't display results at main window

When I have IE open and I select the Search icon there is a split view (I input my search on the left and usually it displays on the right side or main window). Now, when I try to click on a site, it doesnt change the main window. It only changes the left side. If anyone knows how to view what I click on the left side to the main right window please post. Thanks

It only changes the left side.

Choose a different search provider. That one is incompatible with the
Search bar. Alternatively it would probably work if you dragged the links
to the main frame instead of clicking on them. Pressing Shift- while
clicking would at least leave your search results untouched and launch
the hit in a new window.
