When searching for information i have 90% of the time used Google which i assume gives the best result's as they are at the top the tree.. but then if that is so! is their any point in using other lesser search engines that do not have such a large information vault or can a smaller engine give any diversion.

Depends on what you are looking for. Google certainly seems to give the best prices for stuff. Searching for other information I tend to use different engines, Clusty, everyclick, Ixquick-Uk to mention a few. These tend to throw up different and slightly ofbeat suggestions. I like this as when researching something it is nice to see what folk outside the main stream are saying.

Google!

Another enigma i would like to know is how all this information is garnered and made available to us mere mortal's.
