Search Engine / cwsshredder fix

Michael

I recently had my search engine modified by some pop ups
and I came here lokking for answers on how to fix this.

I saw a lot of people recommend ad-aware and spybot.
Someone also suggested a website
(http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm).

I went to this site and they had a program called
cwsshredder listed as a possible fix. I used it and lo
and behold, my serach engine problem was sorta fixed.

now instead of taking me to some bogus search site it
gives me this: http:///? cows (cows was the search
topic I put in)
This is only if I do a search from the address bar. Can
anyone give me a hint as to how to set my autosearch
feature from the bar back to msn?

I would really appreciate the help.

Oh.. BTW... I also tried to reset the default in the
registry like the knowledge base says... but still nothing.

Ok... I did some searching through the forums and I found
the answer. I don't know if this will work for everyone
but it did me.

If you are having the same problem I was having then make
sure you get ad-aware and spybot and remove any parasites
your system has... then download this registry fix and it
should reset your autosearch.

good luck.
