I lost my search companion.
When I select Search icon, in Search window "Action cancelled" is displayed.
I know, I need fix something in registry, the actual values in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Search are:
Default: REG_SZ (value not set)
Customize Search: REG_SZ
http://ie.search.msn.com/{SUB_RFC1766}/srchasst/srchcust.htm
SearchAssistant: REG_SZ
http://ie.search.msn.com/{SUB_RFC1766}/srchasst/srchasst.htm

What is wrong with this setting?

Both are valid entries. Apply this fix:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/RestoreSearch2.REG

If the problem persist, check your HOSTS file for the lines reading MSN (URL) and delete them. Scan for spyware.

Problem persists,
I checked HOSTS files (i have 5 or 6 of them), I can't find MSN entry.

If the problem persist, check your HOSTS file for the lines reading MSN
(URL) and delete them. Scan for spyware.

Reset Web Settings from IE Options > Programs tab. If not, download Hijackthis post the log to Spywareinfo.com forum for expert advice.
