Internet Explorer Search Asst. URL Change Requires Approval

P

Peggy

I am an inexperienced computer user.

After detecting spyware that was a high threat and
removing it...

This popped up:

The Internet Explorer URL for your Search Assistant is
attempting to be changed from
http://www.hotbar.com/dyn/hotbar/3.0/sb-
searchPageHome.htm to http://ie.search.msn.com
{SUB_RFC1766}srcjasst/srchcust.htm.

The default URL for your Search Assistant is
http://ie.search.msn.com/
{sub_rfc1766}/srchasst/srchasst.htm.

What would you like to do? Allow or Block

What should I do?

Thanks.

Peggy, I think this is Microsoft Antispyware being a bit overly "talky"

You've removed Hotbar, which is a Good Thing. As part of that removal,
Microsoft Antispyware needs to revert settings that were changed by Hotbar.
As it doesn't know your preferences, it is offering to reset them to the
Operating System defaults.

I'd say ALLOW, myself.
