Search and Replace

Hi, I am using Windows XP and Word 2007. I have been happily searching and
replacing whenever I want. Today, I did some kind of typo when requesting the
Search dialogue box, and something I was not expecting appeared on my screen.
Annoyed, I clicked it off. I should have paid attention to what it was. Now,
Search won't find a thing. The No Formatting button is gray. I have tried
re-creating my mistake, to no avail.

Does anyone know what I have done to myself?

Have you tried restarting Word? That will reset Find.
