Is there a way to make the search and replace dialogue box go away while
searching after you key in your search criteria. It always seems to be in the
way and I have to move it to the corner of the screen

GKW:

After you set your find argument, you can close the dialog box. You can then
use the browse buttons (in the bottom-right corner of the window -- at the
bottom of the vertical scroll bar) to skip to the next or previous instance.

Great, thanks, that's what I wanted. It appears that when you enter your
search information in the dialogue box, you have to click the NEXT button at
least once or it won't accept your search criteria. If you just key in search
criteria and click CLOSE, it ignores what you entered. Maybe I am doing
something wrong.

Oh, well that is still better than having the dialogue box in the way

GKW:

No, you're not doing anything wrong -- or at least that's the same behavior
I experience. You have to do the search once in the dialog box to make Word
remember your settings.
