my hard drive:
Primary:
Master Maxtor 20gb
Slave: DVD-R
Secondary:
Master: Seagate 80gb
Slave: DVD
my seagate 80gb is on PIO all the time. I’ve tried the method on the
windows site saying to go into device manager and then IDE/ATA then
keep going and choose DMA and then click OK then check, still didnt
work. then i tried the regist edit method where i deleted the
masteriddatachecksum and slaveiddadchecksum, didnt work. then i did
that and also edited timingmodeallowed to ffffffff, didnt work. then i
changed timingmode from 10 to 2010, didnt work. lastly i uninstalled
the drive from the IDE ATA/ATAPI in the device manager, it still didnt
work. can someone please help me?
btw, after the regist edit it was on dma for about an hr and then it
went back to PIO.
