My windows XP home ed. stopped recognizing this tape
drive. The bios on this Dell Optiplex recognizes when the
drive is installed. Another computer with windows XP
recognizes the drive instantly. Windows says tape drive
installer won't load. Help.

Probably a Windows error or driver error. Have you tried
downloading another driver for the tape drive?
www.driverguide.com might have some more help, and a
driver.
