Can I use a SD4g card in a DX6490 easyshare camera?
When I put it in It says Format card but I did and it keeps saying the same
thing.

The following review states that your
camera accepts any capacity SD or
MMC flash card.

Did you format the SD card in the
camera?

Is that 4G card a SDHC card? They look the same but anything that is
designed to work only with SD cards won't work with SDHC cards.

The format needs to be done in the camera.

Here's a link to the Owner's Manual for your DX6490...

If it's a 4MB SDHC card then no it won't accept them according to Kodak
http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-locale=en_GB&pq-path=1337
the spec doesn't mention SDHC cards.
However some older cameras can be persuaded to accept SDHC cards by
performing a firmware update.

Not always so, in my other message I said that some older cameras when given
a firmware update will use SDHC cards.
All cameras that will take SDHC cards will take SD cards.
SDHC cards are recognisable by having SDHC on the label!

Where do I get the update?
=======================
If there is a firmware update for your
camera make and model...you would
have to download it from the camera
mfgs support website.
